It’s Tuesday afternoon and we’re still waiting. I think the baby is just trying to get a point across… “Hey guys, I’m just letting you know who’s going to be calling the shots from here on out. Keep waiting suckers!”
Tomorrow we have a doctor visit to discuss inducing.
I’ll keep you posted!

Holy crap! This little dude is taking his time! As of yesterday Julie was dilated to a 3. We’re just waiting for her to go into labor now.
Will we be having a baby this weekend? Or will he continue to be stubborn and hold out until next week?
Anybody want to guess which day? I’m gonna place my bet on Sunday (this is Vegas… so betting on babies is ok).
What do you think?

Hey there! I’m really sorry about the lack of updates… thanks for your concern! I’ve really just been hesitant to write out a post since things can change so fast in these last couple weeks! That and the fact that we have been keeping busy with all the final preparations! So much to do and so little time to do it!
So here’s where we’re at… everything is progressing steadily and slowly. Julie has started dilating. We’re still just waiting for that little guy to decide he’s ready. The doctor said we can speed things along by taking walks. We’ve been taking walks all day, everyday and it doesn’t seem to be doing much (but really, what do I know?).
We have the hospital bag by the door, the car seat installed, the house cleaned, the budget adjusted, and just about everything else imaginable done… it’s all up to him now!
I hope for his mother’s sake that he’ll get out of there as soon as possible. This last week was a long, hot one!
I’ll let you know as soon as anything changes!!!

What’s going on people! I apologize for the lack of updates this week… it was my last week of summer school and I had so much work to turn in. I just didn’t get around to posting. The good news is that I am out of school for the next six weeks!!! It’ll be so nice to have a break!
As for the baby, we’re just waiting for him to get here! Julie is just hanging in there and being extremely patient. She’s a tough girl, but she’s ready to not be pregnant anymore. The 110 degree heat is miserable enough when your not pregnant… I can’t imagine how she must feel!
She went to the doctor yesterday and the doc says that she’s full term now and can expect the baby any day. Holy crap! We’re gonna have a baby!
So in the mean time we’re just hanging out and trying to get the house ready. Lots of cleaning. Julie is taking it easy. She likes to kick back on the couch during the hot hours and play my Nintendo DS. I don’t blame her.
I’ll try to update pretty often in the next couple weeks. I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as little Noah decides to make his appearance!
(BTW… the picture above is of Julie and my sister Jen, who are only a few weeks apart)

Julie wasn't feeling well today. She's had really bad back pain lately. Today it was unbearable. It was so bad that the "telephone nurse" had us go to the hospital to get checked out.
So we went in, and guess what! It turns out that the cure to back pain is water! Or at least that's what they told her. "You need to drink more water."
I wonder if water will cure my back problems as well?
If this works, the makers of water are going to put the folks at Tylenol right out of business!
And if it doesn't work… Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do for intense back pain? Julie will be very appreciative!

We've been trying to get the nursery all set up and ready to go. I think we're about done! There are some finishing touches that we're working on, but for the most part… this is it! Here are some pictures, let me know if you see anything that doesn't look right! As you can see, we decided on the green and brown rather than the traditional baby blue. We love it!

I like this picture from today's game. After all the pre-game controversy surrounding Eddie Johnson's remarks comparing today's game to a war… this is the image that we are left with! Looks like it WAS a battleground after all!
Anyway, for those of you who don't follow soccer (all of you?), you can be proud of the US team today. Leading into the game, every single critic, every blog, and every "soccer expert" all predicted a major Italian victory (I guess you can't blame them after our horrible performance against the Czechs), and what happened was anything but. We didn't get the win, but we definitely took the Italians by surprise. We dominated the field game and kept them on the defensive for the majority of the match. In the end we were down one man due to ejections (there were three total in the match!) and we still held off their attacks and were able to force the 1-1 draw which is what we needed to still have a chance in the tournament.
So at very least we proved that we aren't the total joke that we appeared to be in our first match!
Anyway! I promise I'm not turning this into a soccer blog! I'm just excited about the Cup.
As for the baby, we're really coming down to the wire. 4 or 5 weeks left… something like that. Things are going good. Julie is wanting to be done with the pregnancy already! She's off for the summer and she's trying to keep busy. We're just playing the waiting game now.
Hurry up Noah! We're getting excited to meet you!

So it's been kind of hard for me to bring myself to make a post today. I've been hiding in my room all day after the US totally bombed their opening World Cup game this morning. What a disaster!
Now, I'm sure the majority of you could care less about the World Cup, but I'm going to keep you updated anyway. I mean, it is the largest sporting event in the world! You should at least know how your own country is doing!
So as of right not things aren't looking too hot. We play again on Saturday, this time against Italy. Keep your fingers crossed! There's still hope!!!
That being said, let's move on. Since I haven't been able to focus on much other than soccer in the last few days, I'll just take this opportunity to thank everyone who came out to Julie's baby shower! I wasn't around, but Julie said it was absolutely wonderful! Thanks to everyone who gave us gifts, we were completely overwhelmed by the generosity!
Here are some pictures of the event…

Lately people have been telling Julie that she doesn't look like she's going to make it to her due date…
Now, I'm not quite sure how they can tell just by looking at her but they've got me worried!
They seem to know what they are talking about. They have more experience with pregnancy than we do. They include her mom, some friends, even perfect strangers… and they all say the same thing! They all agree that she looks like she's not going to make it.
What the hell are they talking about?! How can they know this?? Does anyone know the secret to telling whether or not a woman will make it to her due date? Please enlighten me!!!
Better yet… will someone get to work on finding out how to make the baby stay in longer? We could use a couple more months if possible.
Thanks!
